Jiwara is the sister of Clifford Brooks and Mantyil May Brooks. Their father was the older brother of Rover Thomas.

Jiwara was an adult when she first visited Kunawarritji, her father’s Country, but she has travelled back often since then.

In 2007 Sarah joined the Canning Stock Route ‘return to Country’ trip, and participated in painting and basketmaking workshops at Kunawarritji in 2008.

A long rectangular painting on brown linen with a vertical line of blue circles with white border and black dotted edges down the centre. There are two smaller blue circles with white border and black dotted edges along the left edge of the painting. The larger blue circles are connected by a a beige dotted line and there are beige dotted lines from one of these circles out to the two side circles. The background of the painting is vertical rows of slim orange oblongs with dots of yellow, orange, white and maroon in between them. - click to view larger image — *Wantili (Well 25) to Wuranu (Well 29)*

A circular coiled multicoloured yarn and plant fibre basket with a metal base and bead decoration. The base is made of a blue metal 'Fray Bento / Steak and Mushroom Pie' tin with sides, that is placed upside down. The yarn section is attached by black yarn threaded through holes punched in the metal. The closely coiled yarn is in stripes starting with blue at the top edge then yellow, red, orange, pink and black. The top edge and sides have a decoration of evenly spaced carved cylindrical wooden beads in orange, brown, green and white. - click to view larger image — Basket
