Humphrey Nos 136-157: ‘Twenty two different varieties of Twine & Cordage, formed of Gras, Fibres of the cocoa nut, & other plants; a kind of flax, and various other materials, from the Society Isles, Friendly Isles, and other new discovered Countries in the pacific ocean.’ (138= Oz 518, 136= Oz 519, 154= Oz 199)

These items are twisted cords made of grass or flax, sometimes wrapped around a piece of card, and on which the corresponding numbers of the Humphrey Collection are still firmly attached. Insa Wendt
