Forster Register A.4: ‘4 four-edged [clubs] from the friendly islands’
The club is made of brown wood with a handle which is round in cross-section. Towards the upper end, the club becomes wider and the cross-section rhomboid. The upper end of the club is ornamented with dots, as well as diagonal, zigzag, and horizontal lines. This part is divided into different sections by eight bulged rings. The handle features no engravings. Six rows of a plaited string are wrapped around the lower end of the handle. Inken Köhler, Ulrike Rehr, Gundolf Krüger
