Humphrey No. 31: ‘ Another [piece of thick Cloth], one side white, the other beautifully waved and the ground in a very singular stile, from ditto [Sandwich Islands].’
The barkcloth is thick and has a straight line watermark. It is decorated on one side only. The pattern consists of clusters of black squares and diagonal white zigzags on a red background. Inken Köhler
