Dive into the living heart of one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders.
Life in the Great Barrier Reef is a breathtaking 360-degree VR journey through the UNESCO World Heritage listed marine park.
World premiere
Venture beneath the surface alongside turtles, manta rays, sharks and whales and be among the first to see this stunning new VR experience, making its debut at the National Museum of Australia.
Witness rare dolphin behaviour, spectacular coral spawning and vibrant ecosystems captured with a custom-built camera system, developed to submerge you in the reef’s underwater world in ways never before possible.
Reef and rainforest
Guided by Traditional Owners and leading scientists, this journey reveals the extraordinary complexity and interconnectedness between land, sea and climate, exploring the ancient Daintree rainforest at the only place on Earth where two World Heritage sites meet.
Through world-first footage and powerful first-hand insights, discover how coral bleaching, extreme weather events and other global pressures are reshaping the reef – and learn about critical work to protect and restore this remarkable ecosystem.
Headsets
Life in the Great Barrier Reef is suitable for all audiences, however the VR headset is recommended for users 8 years and older. Specific guidance is provided in the health and safety notice below for users aged 8 to 13 years. Children under the age of 8 are still welcome to attend a session but parent discretion is advised for wearing VR headsets. Not recommended for people with certain medical conditions.
