Winnower

The Harvester Works had three main assembly areas, where all the parts of a machine were brought together from the different manufacturing departments. Workers laboured in a production line, progressively adding components to create a complete machine. Each finished product was then tested and put through a final inspection.

Harvesters were assembled in distinct stages. The frame and wheels were put together first, then sub-assemblies added. Each sub-assembly had been built in a separate workshop.
