Hallyu, or the Korean Wave, describes the global popularity of South Korean culture. In Australia, growing Korean communities have inspired new forms of expression and amplified local voices.
This display brought together filmmaker Andrew Undi Lee, chef Jung Eun Chae and her partner Yoora Yoon, hip-hop group 1300, visual artist Sophi Odling and fashion designer Miranda Day. Through their heritage and lived experience, they reinterpreted hallyu and inspired cross-cultural innovation.
Their stories revealed hallyu as a collaborative force that energises Korean culture and connects Australian creativity to a global conversation.
This display was on show from 8 December 2025 to 22 May 2026.
