General

1. Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry into the Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, and any entry not complying with these Terms and Conditions is invalid.

Who can enter

3. Entry to the Competition is included as part of your ticket purchase (excluding internet charges, mobile device charges or similar) and is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over.
4. Employees of the Promoter (and their immediate families) are ineligible to enter.

How to enter

5. To enter the Competition, eligible participants must purchase a ticket to one of three events – Spotlight Conversation: Women in Antarctica, Spotlight Conversation: The Future of Antarctica and/or Alice in Antarctica. The name and email address of the entrant must be given when the ticket is purchased.
6. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify an entrant who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, or, in the opinion of the Promoter, has engaged in conduct in entering the Competition that is fraudulent, unfair, misleading, inappropriate, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Competition and/or the Promoter. The Promoter also reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that a winner and/or a winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
7. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions or any other reason.

Prizes

8. The prize is a signed copy of Way Down South by Richard I’Anson.
9. The prize must be taken in full and no substitutes will be offered.
10. The prize cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
11. The prize will be presented to the winner during the chosen event (as listed above) or can be collected from the Information Hub at the Museum after the event.
12. The winner is responsible for all expenses not specified in the prize, including but not limited to transport to and from the National Museum of Australia, accommodation, parking, spending money, food and beverages.

Draw and notification of winners

13. This is a competition of chance.
14. All valid entries received will be drawn by the Promoter onsite at the National Museum of Australia, Lawson Crescent, Acton Peninsula, Canberra ACT 2601, on the date of the chosen event.
15. The Promoter will notify winners. If a winner cannot be contacted within 14 days, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to another eligible entry.
16. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspect of the Competition is final and binding on every person who enters.

Further terms and conditions

17. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever that is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
18. If this Competition is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical or supplier difficulties, the Promoter reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition.
19. By entering the Competition, you consent to the Promoter collecting, using and disclosing your personal information in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the National Museum of Australia's privacy policy (available at https://www.nma.gov.au/privacy), and as permitted or required by law.
