Film producer Rebel Penfold-Russell will draw back the curtain on her career, show her favourite footage, and tell some behind-the-scenes stories about the Australian film industry at the National Museum next week.
Penfold-Russell is probably best known as executive producer of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in 1994, which won a swag of awards, including an Oscar for best costume and the Cannes film festival's Prix de Publique.
An Evening with Rebel Penfold-Russell is sponsored by the Friends of the National Museum.
'We know this is going to be a very lively event in line with those films Rebel has produced,' says Tom Layton, executive officer of the Friends of the NMA.
'She's also currently working on two projects sure to interest Canberra filmgoers. The feature Sea of Snow will be filmed on location in Thredbo, while Capital Hill, a TV mini-series, is the story of the link between two women (one of whom becomes Australia's first woman Prime Minister) and their sons.'
An Evening with Rebel Penfold-Russell will be held on Thursday March 13 from 6 to 7.30pm in the Studio at the National Museum.

Penfold-Russell was also executive producer of feature film Frauds (1993), which appeared at Cannes, producer of the feature film Unfinished Business and director of the recent WillFull. She has produced several TV movies and documentaries, notably the children's TV series House of Fun. She has also developed and produced the stage play Tales of a Faerie Called Angel for the Sydney Theatre Company. Penfold-Russell is a graduate of NIDA who went on to study at the London International Film School and the New York Film School. She is the head of Latent Image Productions.
