Win one of two Mr Squiggle and Friends merchandise packs from the National Museum of Australia in Canberra.
General
1. Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry into the Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, and any entry not complying with these Terms and Conditions is invalid.
2. The Promoter is the National Museum of Australia, ABN 70 592 297 967, Lawson Crescent, Acton Peninsula, Canberra ACT 2601, phone 1800 026 132, email information@nma.gov.au.
3. The Competition commences at 9.00am (AEST) on Monday 4 August 2025 and closes at 5.00pm (AEST) on Friday 8 August 2025 (‘the Competition Period’). Entries must be submitted during the Competition Period.
Who can enter
4. Entry to the Competition is free (excluding internet charges, mobile device charges or similar) and is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over. Employees of the Promoter (and their immediate families) are ineligible to enter.
5. Only one entry is permitted per person. Only one prize will be awarded to each winner.
How to enter
6. To enter the Competition, eligible participants must:
- Respond to a National Museum of Australia Facebook post calling for entries to the Competition, by leaving a comment on the post answering the question ‘Which aspect of Norman Hetherington’s creative world do you love and want to share with your students?’ during the Competition Period.
7. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify an entrant who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, or, in the opinion of the Promoter, has engaged in conduct in entering the Competition that is fraudulent, unfair, misleading, inappropriate, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Competition and/or the Promoter. The Promoter also reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that a winner and/or a winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
8. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions or any other reason.
Prizes
9. There are two prizes on offer. The prizes are the same and include two Mr Squiggle and Friends merchandise packs valued at $50 each including GST (total prize pool value of $100). Each prize pack contains
- A limited-edition Mr Squiggle and Friends exhibition tote bag
- A Mr Squiggle activity book and pencils
- 'Play' edition of The Museum magazine
10. The prize must be taken in full and no substitutes will be offered.
11. The prize cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
12. The winner is responsible for all expenses not specified in the prize, including but not limited to transport to and from the National Museum of Australia, accommodation, parking, spending money, food and beverages.
Draw and notification of winners
13. All valid entries received will be judged by the Promoter onsite at the National Museum of Australia, Lawson Crescent, Acton Peninsula, Canberra ACT 2601, on Monday 11 August 2025.
14. Entries will be judged based on the creativity and originality as determined by the panel.
15. The Promoter will notify winners by private message via Facebook direct message on Monday 11 August 2025. Winners are required to reply to the message and provide their name and email address to the Promoter by 5.00pm (AEST) on Wednesday 13 August 2025 to receive their prize.
16. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not reply to the Promotor by 5.00pm (AEST) on Wednesday 13 August 2025, the winner forfeits the prize. The Promotor retains the right to select another winner until such time a winner can be contacted, or to refuse to redraw the prize. No compensation is payable if a prize has been forfeited,
17. The first names of winners and information about the prize may be published on the Promoter's Facebook.
18. The prize must be redeemed at the Information Desk at the National Museum of Australia whilst the exhibition is on show.
19. If the prize is not collected while the exhibition is on display, the winner forfeits the prize and no compensation is payable.
Further terms and conditions
20. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever that is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
21. If this Competition is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical or supplier difficulties, the Promoter reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition.
22. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Meta. By entering and participating, entrants agree to hold harmless, defend and indemnify Meta from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), losses, costs or expenses with respect to, arising out of or related to (i) the entrant’s participation in the Competition or (ii) the entrant’s participation in any prize-related activities, acceptance of a prize and/or use or misuse of a prize (including but not limited to, any property loss, damage, personal injury or death caused to any person(s)).
23. By entering the Competition, you consent to the Promoter collecting, using and disclosing your personal information for the purposes of administering this Competition. Information will not be disclosed to third parties other than as described in these Terms and Conditions or as permitted or required by law.
