Royal visit for Encounters

11 November 2015

As part of his Remembrance Day visit to Canberra, HRH The Prince of Wales visited the National Museum of Australia to meet some of the contemporary artists who have contributed their works to the upcoming landmark Encounters exhibition.

His Royal Highness is the patron of both Encounters and the British Museum’s previous exhibition Indigenous Australia: Enduring Civilisation. He has long had a strong interest in the culture of Australia’s First Peoples.

His visit coincided with the announcement of the Encounters Indigenous Scholarships Program, which is a new partnership between the National Museum of Australia, The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts London and The Prince’s Charities Australia.

The following photos were taken by George Serras, National Museum of Australia.
