Tips for visiting: Rome: City and Empire is popular and our car park is filling quickly. We suggest you Plan your visit and consider taking our free Culture Loop shuttle bus.

Dress up in a toga or stola, make a Roman laurel wreath or help complete our Roman bathhouse mosaic. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings not required, but places are limited. Check out our free instructions for fun at home.

Weekdays 14–18 January and 21–25 January 2019, 10am–1pm and 2–3.30pm
Play, read or relax in our Bay Window chill-out zone or try one of the self-guided activities inspired by Ancient Rome. In the mornings watch on as our artist, Byrd, creates a cardboard chariot. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings not required, but places are limited

Australia Day festival

Join us on Saturday 26 January 2019 for tours, music, dance, demonstrations, games, food and fun inspired by the First Australians gallery and our Rome exhibition. Free, though costs apply for some activities
