Challenge understandings of James Cook’s 1770 Endeavour voyage and its complex legacy by exploring the stories of all those at the heart of this epic story.
This Museum educator–led program explores the Endeavour exhibition, focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experiences and the experiences of those travelling on the HMB Endeavour.
- Introductory activity — Students use enquiry-based learning and object handling in the gallery to investigate the different perspectives of the 1770 journey.
- Reflection — Students will consider the impacts of the journey on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups and how we should collectively remember the voyage into the future.
