School visits to Kspace

Kspace is designed for primary school students, with free teacher resources and student activities available for each scene.

Kspace is open to school groups Monday to Friday during ACT term time:

  • morning sessions at 9am and 10.30am
  • afternoon sessions at 2pm and 3.30pm

It is important that school groups arrive 10 minutes ahead of the start time.

Bookings

School group bookings are required at least two weeks in advance.

Cost: $3 per student.

Make a booking

Written notice of cancellation is required and must be made via Book Canberra Excursions.

Large groups

Kspace bookings can accommodate up to 60 students, with 12 students starting the experience about every 10 minutes.

However, we suggest splitting large groups into two smaller ones – ideally comprising multiples of 12. One group can visit Kspace while the other explores the Museum’s galleries.

Here is a guide to how long it will take to get your group through Kspace:

Accessibility

Kspace offers a range of options for visitors with hearing or mobility impairments.

Augmented hearing units are available for use with our headsets or as neck loops that can be used with hearing aids.

Portable pod controllers are available for visitors in a wheelchair or with limited mobility.

Visitor access guides provide a detailed description of the experience, including storyboards for each of the eight Kspace scenes. These free, print guides are available for parents and carers, or children of reading age who are unable to hear audio instructions during the game. They are also useful for children who have learning difficulties and parents or carers who like to prepare for their visit before arriving at the Museum.

Speak with a Visitor Services Host when you arrive at Kspace about accessing these options.
