About Alastair Swayn
Australian architecture and design owe much to Alastair Swayn. He was a committed member of the Canberra design community for more than 40 years and was a founding partner of Daryl Jackson Alastair Swayn. He was appointed the inaugural ACT Government Architect in 2010 and was a Professorial Fellow at the University of Canberra.
Throughout his career Professor Swayn made a significant contribution to the architectural profession through practice and education, and to the design of the National Capital.

As a lasting legacy to advance Australian architecture, design and culture he generously bequeathed his estate to a foundation in his name: The Alastair Swayn Foundation.
The appointment of the Swayn Senior Fellow in Australian Design is the first major initiative for the Foundation since its establishment.
