Virtual tours and interactive exhibits
The National Museum has had a presence on the Google Arts & Culture site (previously the Google Cultural Institute) since March 2015. Our previous project brought together 177 objects from our collection, with two interactive exhibits highlighting the Basedow collection and the Convict Love Tokens. It also includes virtual tours of our front and back exterior spaces and the interior of the Landmarks gallery.
Take a virtual walk-through and explore selected objects in detail in this immersive snapshot of the Museum's galleries and exhibition spaces. Some galleries and objects have changed since the Google Street View capture in 2015.
The National Museum of Australia gratefully acknowledges the support provided by many private and institutional lenders to the Museum’s permanent gallery displays.
