Yidaki: Didjeridu and the Sound of Australia explored the power of the didjeridu and its meanings to the Yolngu people, cultural custodians of the instrument.
This exhibition was on show at the National Museum of Australia from 25 June to 12 August 2021.
Visitors explored a stringy bark forest, film and audio installations.
They learned about the origins of the instrument in Yolngu culture, where yidaki are not just musical instruments, they are social instruments, instruments of healing and of spiritual life.
This exhibition was presented in partnership with the South Australian Museum and assisted by the Australian Government's Visions of Australia program.
