2024 Encounters Fellowships
The Encounters Fellowship Program provides professional development opportunities for emerging to mid-career First Nations people working in the cultural, heritage or creative sectors.
The National Museum of Australia runs the Program in partnership with cultural institutions in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Key points:
- Up to six fellowships will be awarded in 2024.
- Fellows will spend eight weeks in Canberra, New Zealand and the UK, spread across a four-month period, from April to July 2024.
- Fellows will participate in immersive group sessions and workshops, as well as gain behind-the-scenes experience in the cultural sector through individual placements.
- Placements are tailored to the interests of each Fellow and their professional development goals.
- Fellows receive a stipend and a meals allowance, with all accommodation and travel costs also covered by the Program.
