Join us for live music and free larger-than-life lawn games as the sun sets on Australia Day. Bring a picnic or grab a pie and settle in for the fireworks display at 9pm.

Is seating allocated? No, in fact there are no seats! We suggest that you bring a picnic rug to sit on.
What if it rains? If the Australia Day fireworks across the lake are cancelled, we'll do the same. Stay tuned to social media if it's overcast.
Can I buy food and drink? Yes. We'll have refreshments available for purchase.
Can I see A History of the World in 100 Objects? Yes. We have special extended Australia Day opening hours. Exhibition costs apply.
How do I get there? Stretch your legs and walk, ride a bike, catch a taxi or take an ACTION bus. Limited free parking available in our car park. A free shuttle service (PDF 209KB ) has been arranged to transfer visitors from bus stops within the Australian National University to the Museum.
