Guided tours

Museum tours and talks

If you want to make the most of your visit to the National Museum of Australia or you have limited time, guided tours are ideal. Each tour is personalised and run by a trained Visitor Services Host. Your host knows all about the Museum's exhibitions and can share engaging background information with you during your tour.

Host talks (10 minutes)

Daily: Hourly between 10am and 4pm
Enjoy a free ten-minute talk focusing on some of the highlights from the Museum's collections and the symbolism of the Garden of Australian Dreams.

Museum Highlights tour (1 hour)

Daily: 9.30am, 12 noon, 1.30pm and 3pm
This tour provides visitors with an overall impression of each of the Museum's exhibitions. It offers an excellent general introduction to the National Museum of Australia. Fees apply.

First Australians tour (1 hour)

Daily: 11am
This is a tour through the First Australians gallery. It provides an insight into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' history, cultures, spirituality and connections to country. The tour is designed to give you an insight into Australia's Indigenous history. Fees apply.
