Throughout the year, the Centre provides scholars with office space and a congenial environment in which to complete or continue a project which has relevance to the themes of the Museum. Visitors contribute to the flux of new ideas and expertise in the Museum.

Associate Professor Paula Hamilton

Paula Hamilton has been attached to the Centre for Historical Research while on sabbatical from the University of Technology (UTS) in Sydney where she teaches history. She has worked in oral history for over 20 years and has extensive experience in oral history practice as well as theoretical research in memory studies. She has worked in a range of oral history projects with community groups, museums, heritage agencies, and local councils. She is co-director of the Australian Centre for Public History and also jointly edits the journal Public History Review. Paula has published widely on memory and history in Australia. Her latest work (with Linda Shopes) from Temple University Press is an edited collection titled Oral History and Public Memories.
