Lynne McCarthy
Lynne McCarthy

Dr Lynne McCarthy is an environmental historian and Research Fellow at the National Museum's Centre for Historical Research.

Lynne has a background in environmental science and palaeoecology, with a particular interest in ecological and cultural landscape histories.

Lynne joined the National Museum in 1999 as a curator in the People and the Environment section, contributing a deep time perspective to the development of the Old New Land exhibition for the opening years of the Museum.

Lynne's most recent curatorial work has included the development of exhibits for the upcoming permanent gallery exhibition Australian Journeys.

Lynne has also worked more broadly across the National Museum in roles including Acting Manager of the People and the Environment section, Exhibitions Coordinator and Acting Manager of the Research and Development Unit, prior to joining the Centre.
