Keynote speaker

We are delighted to have Professor Meaghan Morris as our keynote speaker. Professor Morris is Chair Professor of Cultural Studies, Lingnan University (Hong Kong), and Professor of Gender and Cultural Studies, University of Sydney. She is a well-known Australian cultural critic and commentator.

Conference program

We have been overwhelmed by the interest received from scholars around Australia, as well as in Europe and the United States of America.

The program includes 40 papers from Australian and international speakers, and is richly interdisciplinary in its focus. The conference program is attached below, along with a booklet of abstracts. Among those speaking are:

Free public screening of Australia

There will be a free public screening of Baz Luhrmann's Australia in the Visions Theatre at the National Museum of Australia on Sunday 6 December 2009 starting at 1pm.

Conference reception

A conference reception will be held in the Friends Lounge at the National Museum of Australia on Monday 7 December 2009 from 5.15pm to 6.15pm. All conference participants are welcome to attend.
