Sister Carmel Wallis first came to Wagga Wagga's Mt Erin Convent as a student in 1954.

She joined the Presentation Sisters in 1960 and has been back and forth to the convent ever since.

Sister Carmel has devoted much of her recent time developing the ErinEarth Ecological Justice Resource Centre, which will officially open in 2006.

She sees ErinEarth as being a place which models and teaches practical skills for sustainable living. It will also be a gathering place for reflecting on and developing a spirituality more closely linked with the earth.
