'I love this land beneath my feet'
(Guyra Central School and Lightning Ridge Central
School)
We're from a small town
On top of the Great Dividing Range
In New England
North of Armidale
Guyra is the name
Claim to fame
The Big Lamb
Green, rocky, rough land
The weather is cold
But the people are warm
I hope ya understand
We got a caravan park
That's the highest in Oz
We got 'Mother of Ducks' lagoon
Where ducks take off
To migrate to Japan
We got pine trees, wattle
And snow falls on the land
(Moree East Primary School)
We're from Moree East Primary School
When it's hot in summer
We go to the pool
We're in north west
New South
But the water's run out
We got a drought
And the rivers are smelly
The cows have got
Skinny bellies
Looking for shade
Under the tree
Camping down at the Gum Flat
Just my family and me
In Moree, the people are nice
We've got a lot of mice
When we want to relax
We hit the natural hot spa
No matter the price
(St Joseph's Primary School)
Guyra, Moree and Walgett
Beneath the Southern Cross
Where the two rivers meet
From the flat bush
To the mountain trees
I love this land
Beneath my feet
Outback, way back
New South Wales
Walgett is where
We dwell
Scorched, dusty scrub
But fresh air is what you smell
A little drought affected
Town
With sheep, cattle and wheat
Duncan Fashions and Tommy Johnson's
Are on the main street
Guyra, Moree and Walgett
Beneath the Southern Cross
Where the two rivers
Meet
From the flat bush
To the mountain trees
I love this land
Beneath my feet
