Maxine Vale is a student at the Echuca Secondary College. Through engaging in pursuits like writing pieces for the local newspaper she hopes to bring an imaginative and youthful outlook to the area.

Picola's silos, Picola
Picola Silo's are situated in the middle of Picola. They are where all the local farmers take their newly harvest wheat to be sold.
Picola is a farming community. From dairy to sheep, and crops to cattle. Many people rely on the Picola Silo's to be there when they have newly harvested wheat to be sold. Up until recently, this was possible, but things are changing.
Picola General Store, Picola
This shop is Picola's only General Store, the only shop where you can purchase newspapers, collect mail, buy bread, cream, etc.
Picola is not all bad though. It does have a General Shop that sells most things from, newspapers and magazines, to chocolates and lollies. To drinks and dairy products and even loaves of bread. It also aids as a post office delivering mail into the community.
Football-netball club, Picola
Picola has it's own football and netball club that is part of the Picola and District football league.
Picola has many sporting opportunities for the young and old. from football and netball, to lawn bowls and cricket. Tennis is also played with the surrounding district in the summer. Picola has always been a big sporting town.
