Humphrey No. 232: ‘a paddle made of hard Wood carved in the middle, and also serve occasionally for a Battle axe, from the Friendly Isles.’

or Forster Register A.3: ‘a wide club from the friendly islands’

The club is made of brown wood. At the end of the handle, the cross-section is round, but becomes rhomboid towards the middle of the club. The club becomes wider towards the upper part and has a shape similar to that of a paddle. This part is separated from the handle by two pairs of bulged rings framing a section with engravings. The rest of the club lacks any ornamentation. Inken Köhler, Ulrike Rehr, Gundolf Krüger
