Wow, this creek is in trouble. Salinity is so high here that this water is on the line between 'fresh' and 'brackish.' One would expect this sort of salinity in an estuary. This water can't even be used for irrigation, unless the plants watered are salt tolerant. Further, the high phosphates indicates farm run-off or failing sewage treatment works up stream.

About the site
Deep pool under railway bridge. Land used for recreation – not developed. Weeds present. Site contains large amounts of emergent vegetation, has very low to no flow.
What's going on:
Revegetation and council plans to establish a bike path along the creek.
Revegetation, water quality monitoring and fauna surveys.
