Bendigo Pottery’s Bill Derham to visit Museum

30 APRIL 2008

In 1968 Bill Derham took over leadership of Bendigo Pottery and drove the company out of a period of struggle into a flourishing business. Bill will visit Bendigo Pottery: Celebrating 150 Years, a display celebrating the history of one of Australia's best known potteries, at the National Museum of Australia at 10am tomorrow.

Since its establishment in 1858, Bendigo Pottery has played a significant role in the history of Australian ceramics, producing wares ranging from the domestic and decorative, to the utilitarian and industrial. Bendigo Pottery: Celebrating 150 Years explores the history of Bendigo Pottery from its inception on the Victorian goldfields to modern times.
