Through the eyes of Australia's top cartoonists, a National Museum of Australia exhibition Behind the Lines: The Year's Best Cartoons captures the twists and turns of another eventful year in Australian politics.

Papunya Painting: Out of the Desert is a National Museum of Australia exhibition showcasing the work of Aboriginal artists and their supporters in the early days of the Papunya Tula art movement, between 1974 and 1981.

During the 1970s and early 1980s artists at the Northern Territory community of Papunya created a body of work which transformed understandings of Aboriginal art. Papunya Painting: Out of the Desert, a free exhibition at the National Museum of Australia, explores the stories behind the canvas.
