This exhibition celebrates the centenary of surf lifesaving. Developed in conjunction with Surf Life Saving Australia, this major exhibition looks at the history of surf lifesaving, the lifesaver as an Australian icon, beach culture and stories from the rescued and rescuers.

Celebrate the centenary of Rugby League in 2008 with this National Museum of Australia exhibition. Explore the history of the game since its inception in Australia, reviewing major milestones and events throughout its history.

See iconic trophies and treasures of the game and enter the locker room to learn about changes in technology. Hear from the fans and the people who've played and called the game.

This exhibition was on show at the National Museum in Canberra from 8 March until 11 May 2008.

It will be travelling to the following locations:

Queensland: Queensland Museum, Brisbane, 6 June – 10 August 2008

New South Wales: Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, September to November 2008

Queensland: Museum of Tropical Queensland, Townsville, December 2008 to March 2009

Victoria: National Sports Museum, Melbourne, April to July 2009
