Keeping Our Stories Alive

Your valued donations to our Annual Appeal in 2016 helped the National Museum of Australia to acquire a first edition of Voyage de Découvertes aux Terres Australes or ‘Voyage of Discovery in Southern Lands’.

The rare ‘Voyage of Discovery in Southern Lands’ publication featured in The Art of Science: Baudin’s Voyagers 1800–1804 exhibition at the National Museum in 2018. It is also available for future generations to study and enjoy.

Commissioned by Napoleon, ‘Voyage of Discovery in Southern Lands’ records early exploration and mapping of Australia’s uncharted coastlines, encounters with Indigenous peoples and colonists, natural history specimens and animals.

Thank you

We gratefully thank these donors who supported our 2016 Keeping Our Stories Alive appeal.
