The collections of the National Museum are priceless. They are the historical common wealth of this nation and a rich personal resource for each of us and for the generations to come.
The Friends of the National Museum of Australia Public Fund (Friends Foundation) is a charitable trust established by the Friends to support the collections and programs of the National Museum of Australia. Through the Friends Foundation you can help the National Museum of Australia take its place among the world's great social history museums.
Friends Foundation Acquisition Fund
The Acquisition Fund supports the acquisition of key objects for the Museum's National Historical Collection, an irreplaceable and priceless collection of historically and culturally significant objects for all Australians. We ask for your help to purchase two important pieces for the National Historical Collection.
The annual Friends Foundation Fellowship aims to support professional staff to undertake significant research projects. Each year the Friends awards the successful Fellow up to $5000 toward a research project.
The 2008 Fellowship was awarded to David Kaus, Senior Curator, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program.
