Lag | Meta | Aus curator talk

Thursday, 24 July 10am to 12 noon

National Museum of Australia.Friends are cordially invited to hear curator Jono Lineen's exclusive talk on the new Lag | Meta | Aus exhibition, followed by light refreshments in the Friends Lounge. This exhibition features artworks, objects and stories that reflect the Torres Strait's history and culture from the mythological past to the present.

Rare books viewing: early settlement and navigation of Australia

Wednesday, 27 August 1.30pm to 3.30pm

An opportunity for Museum Friends to share a welcoming cup of tea in our members lounge and then attend a viewing of rare books held in the Museum Library. The theme is 'Early settlement and navigation of Australia' to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the deaths of Captain Matthew Flinders and Captain Arthur Phillip.
