Eunice Yunurupa Porter is a respected leader and artist in the Warakurna community. She was born at Wirrkural on the Jameson road out of Warburton mission, and lived with her family in the bush before attending school at Warburton mission from about the age of 10.
In 1974 Porter moved to Warakurna, the country of her late husband, where she still lives with her children and grandchildren. She painted a limited number of works for the Warburton Arts project in the early 1990 and began painting with Warakurna Artists in mid-2005, where she rapidly became one of its most exciting emerging artists with her vibrant interpretations of powerful Tjukurrpa (Dreaming) and contemporary stories.
