The National Museum is the exclusive Australian venue, from 21 September, 2018 to 3 February 2019, open 9am to 5pm daily except Christmas Day. We have extended opening hours from 26 December 2018 to 3 February 2019, from 8am to 7pm.

Online now. There’s no booking fee, and it will save you time when you arrive at the Museum. If you are buying a ticket on the day of your visit, please note that ticket sales end two hours before that day’s closing time.
Yes. The Museum Cafe is open 9am to 4.45pm daily. You can also bring a picnic and enjoy in our Lakeside Amphitheatre.

Yes! There’s a Roam around Rome family guide free with entry; and a free Rome Audio Tour for Kids. The Museum welcomes kids and has:

- Family friendly spaces
- Prams for free loan from the Information Desk.
Small bags under 30 cm, prams and wheelchairs. Food, drink, umbrellas and bags that can’t fit in a 30cm box can’t be taken into our exhibitions, but we have a free cloakroom.
There’s two, a general tour and one specially for kids, and they’re free! We recommend you download our app, The Loop, before coming to the Museum, and bring your headphones. Accessible versions of both tours are available.
If you don’t have your own device, you can hire one for $5 from our Information Desk. We also have $6 earbuds available for purchase. They fit a standard 3.5 mm audio jack, and aren’t suitable for newer Apple devices.
Museum Friends receive Rome specials including a first ticket for $5, discounts on exhibition entry and events, free entry for Mkids, and fast-pass entry. Members always receive a 10 per cent discount at our cafe and shop.
The exhibition is just inside the Gandel Atrium, on our ground floor. The general and kids audio tours are available in Auslan, with captions and audio descriptions, through the Conexu Foundation’s OpenAccess Tours app.
