The show had a wide range of baskets from conventional to quirky, two and three dimensional, innovative sculptures, including a smaller version of the Grass Toyota that won the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art award in 2005.

Basket with carved birds and tree design
Nyiningka Lewis, 1997

Woven sculpture using grass, raffia, wool plant seeds and painted wood. The sculpture resembles a cake tin in form. Red and orange seeds have been attached to the top and sides in concentric circles, geometric lines and flower like patterns. The top and sides are brown and off white in colour. Four stylised wooden bird sculptures are evenly arranged on the top, all facing in with their beaks almost touching.

Mother dog and puppies at the waterhole

Woven objects in the shape of a female dog and two puppies. The dogs are presented as flat forms. The large female is at the top of the image, made from an undyed fibre. There are five teats on its underside and a single dark eye on the side of its head. The two smaller dogs are beneath it, one to the left upside down with its head pointing up, the other to the right, the right way up. Both are made from natural fibre interwoven with black yarn, giving them a much darker appearance.

Basket

Multi-colour striped basket. The basket has a broad base and a wide mouth. The wall and base are made from fibre coils in rich tones of red, blue, green, brown, orange, black and purple. Some of the basket base can be seen in the image. It has a small solid yellow disc section in the middle. The offset ends of coils in the wall can be seen on part of the basket's inside.

Gulpa Ngar-Wu

Spirit figure made from sedge, wire, fabric and gumnuts. The figure has a flat rectangle body, flat oval head and two thin legs protruding from the bottom corners of the body. There are numerous small quilt like panels in the body. Each has on it customary Indigenous patterns or customary Indigenous representations of animals. The head, woven from coils, has no features apart from two gumnuts representing eyes. The head is surrounded by a wire framework onto which have been attached lengths of fabric.

Spirit figure
Treahna Hamm, 2007

Representation of a yabby made from sedge, wire and gumnuts. The piece has a long flat oval body section and a shorter flat oval head section. The body section has fabric that has customary Indigenous designs applied to it. Green coils have been overlayed on the fabric in a regular grid pattern. The head has a smaller coil oval section overlaying the larger fabric oval. Long coil sections extend from the face to beyond the edge of the figure and finish in loops.
