The show had a wide range of baskets from conventional to quirky, two and three dimensional, innovative sculptures, including a smaller version of the Grass Toyota that won the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art award in 2005.

Basket
Bambiyak Munungurr, 2006

A wide-mouthed woven Indigenous basket. It has a narrow circular base and two double loop handles on opposite sides of the basket lip. The horizontal coil weaving has been coloured in alternating large vertical bands of mustard yellow and purple- brown.

A woven Indigenous basket without handles. The basket gently flares out from the base to the top. The many horizontal woven coils are coloured in greens, blues, blacks, reds, purples and yellows. Some coil bands are in the light wheat colour of the natural fibres used in the coils.

Raffia, grass, emu feathers.

Star Mat

A mat made from concentric circles. Each circle is made from two coil lengths joined together. Connecting each of the circles is a single coil length, undulating around the circumferences of the circles. In the centre of the piece is a densely woven circle forming a small mat. The entire piece is coloured in mustard yellow, purple-red and pale wheat.

Four fibre vessels. The front two are the same size; the rear left one is larger and the rear right one is the largest. All are made from horizontal coils and have large bases tapering to narrow necks. All vessels have a small woven lid. Horizontal bands of light and dark ochre colours are on each vessel. The front left vessel has a string loop of what appear to be seeds or shells hanging from the neck.

Basket

Woven basket with handles. The basket has a large base and wide opening. It bulges out slightly toward the base. It is woven from horizontal bands of fibre in warm earth colours. The bands are interwoven with vertical bands. A handle is formed by two multi-strand loops of twine connected to the basket lip at opposite sides. Two strings of small shells hang down the front of the basket, attached to the base of the handle loops on that side.

Seeds of Change

Twenty eight separate fibre coils. The coils are set out from the smallest at the top of the image to the largest at the bottom. Each is made from fibre lengths woven from two coloured strands. The colours are chocolate brown through to medium ochre. Some coils start in a light colour and change to a dark colour toward the centre. Others are made in the reverse order.
