The Miss Australia Quest was arguably the longest running, most popular and most successful charitable event in Australia's history.
Miss Australia: A Nation's Quest is a National Museum of Australia exhibition that traces the history of the quest from humble beginnings in 1907, through to its final year in 2000.
Stories from titleholders, volunteers, fundraisers and sponsors feature alongside historic dresses, trophies and crowns.
View photographs and footage from the quest to see how this iconic event helped to shape the notion of an ideal Australian woman.
The exhibition has been seen at the National Museum in Canberra and the Museum of Brisbane.
