Free Trade Agreement

 

The Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (FTA) came into force on 1 January 2005. Already strong military allies, the FTA signals the beginning of an even closer relationship between the two countries. While applauded by many commentators, cartoonists raised questions about the benefits of the agreement and equality of the partnership.
