Life in the Pacific: The 21st Century was a documentary photographic exhibition featuring 80 works from students representing various Pacific Island communities.

This educational project complemented Cook's Pacific Encounters, a major exhibition of the Cook-Forster collection of Indigenous works of art from the Pacific Islands.

This exhibition was supported in part by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts through appropriations from the Legislature of the State of Hawaii and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Life in the Pacific was on show at the National Museum of Australia from 7 July to 10 September 2006 in the Nation Focus Gallery.
