Great Railway Journeys of Australia
20 April 2007 − 26 August 2007
Nation Focus Gallery
Since the introduction of railways to Australia more than 150 years ago, train travel has played an important role in Australian cultural life.
This new exhibition explores the development of Australia's rail network and features some of the most famous railway journeys in the country, such as the old and new Ghan, the Queenslander and the Indian Pacific.
It also features exciting objects of Australia's railway history, from the dining setting of an early 1920s dining carriage to a model of a Southern Aurora club car.
Entry is free.
