Biking films on YouTube

Here are a few of curator Daniel Oakman's favourite mountain-biking films from YouTube.

This short film shows Australian mountain biker Todd Madsen riding at Goat Farm Mountain Bike Park on the outskirts of Perth, Western Australia.

Western Australian Sam Hill is a professional downhill mountain biker renowned for his mastery of steep, rocky and technical courses. This ride was filmed with a camera fixed to Hill's helmet as he descended Mont-Sainte-Anne in Canada.

Scottish cyclist Danny MacAskill's street trial films are among the most compelling and slickly produced bike films. In this film from San Francisco, MacAskill explains his approach to trials riding.

Here, MacAskill rides through the abandoned town of Epecuén in Argentina. Listen out for the soundtrack by Australian band The Jezebels.

Free-riding is a style of downhill mountain biking that focuses on mastery of technical trail features and creative performance. These two films showcase some thrilling free-riding in British Columbia, Canada.
