The Narrows, Darwin

The Narrows is situated close to the centre of Darwin. Named after the narrow strip of land that was the only railway route into the city during the Second World War, the suburb occupies only two main streets with minor crossroads.

A microcosm of the Darwin community, the Narrows is a multicultural mix of Anglo, indigenous and migrant families. It is a relaxed community where children enjoy the freedom to roam, ride and run.
