Help us to farewell A New Horizon at our family festival. 

Enjoy music, dance, demonstrations, art and craft to celebrate Australia Day, Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon. 

Performances

10 am – 2 pm, The Hall

10 am – 2 pm China Dolls stilt walkers (30 minutes every hour)
10.50–11.15 am Chinese Lion dancing by Prosperous Mountain Lion Dance
11.20 am – 12.30 pm  Chinese Dancing and Music from the Australian Chinese Culture Exchange and Promotion Association
12.40–1 pm Chinese Lion dancing by Sydney Lion Dance Troupe
1.15–2 pm

Chinese Music from the ANU Chinese Ensemble

Craft activities

10 am – 2 pm, Bay Window, The Hall

Lucky Dragon

Help celebrate Chinese New Year and make your own lucky Chinese paper dragon puppet to take home, and play with our special Dragon Chatterbox. 

Lucky Symbols

Create your own lucky Chinese symbol on paper with artist Naomi Zouwer using Chinese symbols such as good fortune, prosperity, happiness, harmony and love. 

Tours

10.30 am and 1 pm, Temporary Exhibition Gallery

A New Horizon exhibition highlights tour by Museum hosts, Olivia and Yun.

Workshops

11.15–11.55 am, Garden of Australian Dreams

Participate in a Tai Chi workshop under the guidance of the Tai Chi Academy.
