About Holly Throsby

Holly Throsby is from Sydney, Australia. Since her debut album On Night (2004), the ARIA nominated singer, songwriter and guitarist has toured Australia and internationally, recording most of her 2008 release A Loud Call in Nashville with guest performers including Bonny 'Prince' Billy and members of Lambchop and Silver Jews.

Her lyrics and voice have been described as intimate, intriguing, outstanding, fragile and poetic. Apart from music she is interested in 20th century literature, political intrigue, humour, small towns and dogs.

About The Cashews

The Cashews are contemporary acoustic nuts who write and play quirky, melodious songs with a lingering social conscience. Formed by Alison Procter and Pete Lyon in 2004, they've gained a keen following in the ACT region and have successfully shared local stages with major Australian touring acts.

Their 'Guerrilla Gigs' series around Canberra during recent summers are now legendary and have been featured in the Canberra Times (2006) and the SBS Lonely Planet episode on Canberra (2007).
