The war in Iraq, the wearing of the hijab, living as a Muslim in a 'post-September 11' Australia - these and other cultural and sociopolitical matters will be on the agenda for the second last Talkback Classroom forum for 2005.

The guest, Dr Ameer Ali, President of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC), will respond to questions from the panel that seek to expand upon the topics mentioned above.

Dr Ali brings considerable experience and knowledge to this forum; his cv includes 40 years as an academic, including lecturing at universities in Sri Lanka and Brunei Darussalam.

He has published texts on economic development and has been the president of AFIC for four years.

This forum promises to provide an essential insight into the matters that affect the lives of Australian Muslims and non Muslims.
