Talkback @ the National Press Club
Our last Talkback Classroom forum on Youth and the Media was the final TBC forum at the National Museum. The forum is moving to the National Press Club and is now open to senior secondary and tertiary students.
Australia/Japan forum
To kick off Talkback @ the NPC we are travelling to Japan. The Australia–Japan forum will provide an opportunity for a team of Japanese and Australian students to undertake a 'Learning Journey' to investigate 'images of Australia in Japan and Japan in Australia'.
Two Australian students will be selected to travel to Japan for a one week visit to work with two Japanese students. The students will undertake an investigation into 'images of Australia' in Japan. A primary focus will be Japanese media coverage (assisted by the National Press Club of Japan) of issues of mutual interest to Japan and Australia. The two Japanese students will then travel to Australia for a one week visit hosted by the National Press Club of Australia to explore Australian media coverage of similar issues in the Australian media.
The Forum
The project will culminate in a student forum hosted by the National Press Club of Australia, streamed on the net and transmitted to schools via video conference links.
