Maximum group size: 30 (larger groups of up to 60 can be accommodated by dividing the group into two)
Aim
The aim of this program is to provide students with the opportunity to:
- explore the impact of, and changes in, transport throughout Australia's history
- investigate ideas such as why we need transport, how transport makes links for goods and people, how transport impacts on the environment, how transport has changed and why and how transport may change in the future.
Outline
This program has three main components:

Introduction – working in groups, students handle a collection of objects related to different modes of transport and, weather permitting, view the PS Enterprise.

Gallery visit – working in groups, students explore the Nation gallery.

Gallery activity – students participate in a treasure hunt for key objects relating to transport, then select and sketch their favourite transport object in the gallery to take back to school.
You may like to allow extra time to visit other exhibitions and to explore other places in the Museum.
