Aim
The aim of this program is to provide students with:
- a brief overview of the National Museum of Australia's permanent exhibitions and main themes of land, nation and people.
- the opportunity to hear interesting stories behind some of our favourite objects.
Outline
The program has two main components:
-
Introduction – students are met by Education staff and taken to a Museum theatre where they will experience a fun and informative multimedia journey through the five permanent exhibitions of the Museum.
-
Gallery visits – under the supervision of their teachers, students explore the Museum.
This program has been especially devised to cater for schools that need to come to the Museum in very large groups. We suggest that schools bringing very large numbers select an afternoon time slot when the Museum's galleries are less likely to be crowded. Please leave all bags on your bus.
